POLYPUS , a See also:term signifying a See also:tumour which is attached by a narrow See also:neck to the walls of a cavity lined with mucousmembrane. A polypus• or polypoid tumour may belong to any variety of tumour, either See also:simple or See also:malignant. The most See also:common variety is a polypus of the See also:nose of simple See also:character and easily removed.
