QUATRAIN , sometimes spelt Quartain (from Fr. quatre, four), a piece of See also:verse See also:complete in four rhymed lines. The length or measure of the verse is immaterial, but they must be See also:bound together by a See also:rhyme-arrangement. This See also:form has always been popular for use in the See also:composition of epigrams, on See also:account of its brevity and neatness, and may be considered as a modification of the See also:Greek or Latin See also:epigram at its concisest.
