RAMPUR BOALIA, or BEULEAII , a See also:town of See also:British See also:India, the administrative headquarters of See also:Rajshahi See also:district in Eastern See also:Bengal and See also:Assam; on the See also:left See also:bank of the See also:Ganges. Pop. (1901) 21,589. It was originally chosen as a commercial factory for the See also:silk See also:trade, which is again being officially encouraged by the agricultural See also:department. The town contains a See also:government See also:college, and an See also:industrial school for sericulture. Most of the public buildings were severely damaged by the See also:earthquake of the 12th of See also:June 1897. There is a daily steamer service on the Ganges.
