In 302 B.C. a See also:temple was dedicated to Salus on the Quirinal (See also:Livy x. 1); and in later times public prayers were offered to her on behalf of the See also:emperor and the Roman See also:people at the beginning of the See also:year, in See also:time of sickness, and on the emperor's birthday. In 18o B.C., on the occasion of a See also:plague, vows were made to See also:Apollo, See also:Aesculapius and Salus (Livy xl. 37). Here the See also:special attribute of the goddess appears to be health; and in later times she was identified with the See also:Greek goddess of health, See also:Hygieia.
