THRASYMEDES , of See also:Paros, a See also:Greek sculptor. Formerly he was regarded as a See also:pupil of See also:Pheidias, because he set up in the See also:temple of Asclepius at See also:Epidaurus a seated statue of that deity made of See also:ivory and See also:gold, which was evidently a copy of the See also:Zeus of Pheidias. But an inscription recently found at Epidaurus proves that the temple and the statue belong to the See also:fourth See also:century.
