orthoclase-Carlsbad twinned crystal-1
A twin crystal is a structure where two or more crystals of the same mineral are
growing together, oriented in a specific crystallographic direction.  This particular
type of orthoclase feldspar twinning is referred to as a Carlsbad twin.  This
specimen is a little under 2 centimeters in length.
