SIENA, See also:Italian architects and sculptors in the first See also:half of the 14th See also:century. Della See also:Valle and other commentators deny that they were See also:brothers. They certainly studied together under Giovanni See also:Pisano, and in 1317 were jointly appointed architects of their native See also:town, for which they designed the See also:Porto See also:Romana, the See also:church and See also:convent of St See also:Francis, and other buildings. On the recommendation of the celebrated See also:Giotto, who styled them the best sculptors of the See also:time, they executed in 1330 the See also:tomb of See also:Bishop Guido Tarlati in the See also:cathedral of See also:Arezzo, which Giotto had designed. It was esteemed one of the finest See also:artistic See also:works of the 14th century, but unfortunately was destroyed by the See also:French under the See also:duke of See also:Anjou.
