ALAMBAGH, or ALUMBAGH , the name of a large See also:park or walled enclosure, containing a See also:palace, a See also:mosque and other buildings, as well as a beautiful See also:garden, situated about 4 M. from See also:Lucknow, near the See also:Cawnpore road, in the See also:United Provinces of See also:India. It was converted into a fort by the mutineers in 1857, and after its See also:capture by the See also:British was of importance in connexion with the military operations around Lucknow.
