ALLAMANDA , named after J. N. S. Allamand (1713-1787), of See also:

Leiden, a genus of shrubby, See also:evergreen climbers, belonging to the natural See also:order Apocynaceae, and a native of tropical See also:America. Several See also:species aregrowninhot-houses for the beauty of theirfoliage and See also:flowers; the latter, See also:borne in many-flowered panicles, have a See also:funnel-shaped corolla with a narrow See also:tube, and often yellow in See also:colour. The See also:plants are of comparatively easy culture, and very effective when trained to wires beneath the roof of the See also:house.
