ALCOHOL, C3H5OH or See also:CH2:CH•CH2OH, a See also:compound which occurs in very small quantities in See also:wood spirit. It may be prepared from allyl iodide by the See also:action of moist See also:silver See also:oxide; by the reduction of acrolein; or by See also:heating See also:glycerin with oxalic See also:acid and a little ammonium chloride to 26o° C.
