AMBERT , a See also:

town of central See also:France, See also:capital of an See also:arrondissement of the See also:department of See also:Puy-de-See also:Dome, on the See also:Dore, 52 M. E.S.E. of Clermont-See also:Ferrand by See also:rail. Pop. (1906), town, 3889; See also:commune, 7581. The town has a See also:church of the 15th and 16th centuries and carries on the manufacture of See also:paper, See also:lace, ribbon, rosaries, &c., and See also:trade in See also:cheese. It is the seat of a sub-See also:prefect; and the public institutions include tribunals of first instance and of See also:commerce, a chamber of arts and manufactures, and a communal See also:college.
