He de-signed many buildings in See also:Rome, See also:Lucca and See also:Florence, an addition to the Pitti See also:Palace in the last-named See also:city being one of his most celebrated See also:works. He was also employed in 1569 to build the beautiful See also:bridge over the See also:Arno, known as See also:Ponte della Trinitaone of his celebrated works. The three See also:arches are elliptic, and though very See also:light and elegant, have resisted the fury of the See also:river, which has swept away several other See also:bridges at different times. Another of his most important works was the See also:fountain for the Piazza della Signoria. In 1550 Ammanati married Laura Battiferri, an elegant poet and an accomplished woman.
