BEND . (I) (From Old Eng. bendan), a bending or curvature, as in " the bend of a See also:river," or technically the ribs or " See also:wales " of a See also:ship. (2) (From Old Eng. bindan, to bind), a nautical See also:term for a See also:knot, the " See also:cable bend," the " fisherman's bend."
