pope, was elected in 251 during the See also:lull in the persecution of the See also:emperor See also:Decius. Two years afterwards, under the emperor See also:Gallus, he was exiled to Centuracellae (Civita Vecchia), where he died. He was very intimate with St See also:Cyprian, and is commemorated with him on the 16th of See also:September, which is not, however; the anniversary of his See also:death. He died in See also:June 253;.
