CREOPHYLUS of See also:

Samos, one of the earliest See also:Greek epic poets. According to an See also:epigram of See also:Callimachus (quoted in See also:Strabo xiv. p. 638) he was the author of a poem called Oi aXtas Awns, which told the See also:story of the See also:conquest of Oechalia by Heracles. Creophylus was said to have been a friend or relative of See also:Homer, who, according to another tradition, was himself the author of the"AXcoms, and presented it to Creophylus in return for the latter's hospitality.
