HAGONOY , a See also:

town of the See also:province of Bulacan, Luzon, Philippine Islands, on See also:Manila See also:Bay and on the W. See also:branch and the See also:delta of the Pampanga Grande See also:river, about 25 M. N.W. of Manila. Pop. (1903), 21,304. Hagonoy is situated in a See also:rich agricultural region, producing See also:rice, See also:Indian See also:corn, See also:sugar .and a little See also:coffee. See also:Alcohol is made in considerable quantities from the fermented juice of the nipa See also:palm, which grows in the neighbouring swamps, and from the leaves of which the nipa See also:thatch is manufactured. There is See also:good fishing. The See also:women of the town are very skilful in See also:weaving the native fabrics. The See also:language is Tagalog. Hagonoy was founded in 1581.
