town in the Prussian See also:province of See also:Westphalia, on the Baar, in a See also:bleak and hilly region, 17 M. W. of See also:Arnsberg, and 30 M. E.N.E. from See also:Barmen by See also:rail. Pop. (1900) 27,265. Iserlohn is one of the most important manufacturing towns in Westphalia. Both in the town and neighbourhood there are numerous foundries and See also:works for See also:iron, See also:brass, See also:steel and See also:bronze goods, while other manufactures include See also:wire, needles and pins, See also:fish-hooks, machinery, See also:umbrella-frames, thimbles, bits, See also:furniture, chemicals, See also:coffee-See also:mills, and pinchbeck and britanniametal goods. Iserlohn is a very old town, its gild of armourers being referred to as " See also:ancient " in 1443.
