Pop. (1905), about 18,000. Jutigalpa is the second See also:city of Honduras, being surpassed only by See also:Tegucigalpa. It is the administrative centre of a mountainous region See also:rich in minerals, though See also:mining is rendered difficult by the lack of communications and the unsettled See also:condition of the See also:country. The See also:majority of the inhabitants are See also:Indians or See also:half-castes, engaged in the cultivation of See also:coffee, bananas, See also:tobacco, See also:sugar or See also:cotton.
