KLIPSPRINGER , the See also:

Boer name of a small See also:African See also:mountain-See also:antelope (Oreotragus saltator), ranging from the Cape through See also:East See also:Africa to See also:Somaliland and See also:Abyssinia, and characterized by its See also:blunt rounded hoofs, thick pithy See also:hair and See also:gold-spangled colouring. The klipspringer represents a genus by itself, the various See also:local forms not being worthy of more than racial distinction. The activity of these antelopes is marvellous.
