Pop. (19o1), 8012. It manufactures silks and matches, and is famous for the See also:battle (1859) in which the allied See also:French and Piedmontese defeated the Austrians (see See also:ITALIAN See also:WARS). A memorial See also:chapel and a See also:monument were erected on the battle-See also:field in 1862.
