MAGELLANIC CLOUDS (named after See also:

Ferdinand See also:Magellan) , two See also:cloud-like condensations of stars in the See also:southern See also:constellation of See also:Mensa about 69° S. Dec. and between 5° and 5° 4o' of R. A. They are remarkable in the resemblance of their stars as regards spectra and See also:physical constitution to the stars of the Milky Way, though entirely detached from that See also:object.
