In 1908 Ferdinand married Eleanor (b. 186o), a princess of the See also:house of See also:Reuss. Later in the See also:year, in connexion with the Austrian See also:annexation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the crisis with See also:Turkey, he proclaimed the See also:independence of Bulgaria, and took the title of king or tsar.
