He spent the winters of 1831 and 1832 in See also:Rome, and then for nearly a See also:decade he lived in See also:Boston, See also:Massachusetts, where he had considerable See also:vogue, and where in 1842 he painted a portrait of See also:Charles See also:Dickens. One of his best portraits is that ofMrs See also:Fletcher See also:Webster in the Boston Museum of See also:Fine Arts. He died in 1881 in See also:Florence.
