RHIPSALIS , a genus of about 50 tropical See also:

species, mainly in Central and See also:South See also:America, but a few in tropical See also:Africa and See also:Madagascar. It is a very heterogeneous See also:group, being fleshy-stemmed with a woody See also:axis, the branches being angular, winged, flattened or cylindrical, and the See also:flowers small, See also:short-tubed, succeeded by small, See also:round, See also:pea-shaped berries. Rhipsalis Cassytha, when seen laden with its See also:white berries, bears some resemblance to a See also:branch of mistletoe. All the species are epiphytal in See also:habit.
