Italian name of the See also:basket-hilted See also:sword of the 17th See also:century, resembling what is erroneously called the " See also:claymore " of See also:modern Highland regiments. The " schiavone " was the sword of the See also:Slavonic See also:guards (Schiavone.) of the doges of See also:Venice, whence the name (see SWORD).
