SYNODIC See also:

PERIOD , in See also:astronomy, the apparent period of a See also:planet or See also:satellite when its revolution is referred to the See also:line passing through the See also:earth or the See also:sun. In the See also:case of the See also:planets it is the period between successive conjunctions of the same See also:kind, inferior or See also:superior, with the sun. In the case of the satellites it is the period relative to the See also:radius vector from the sun.
