TRABEATED , the architectural See also:

term given to those styles in which the See also:architrave or See also:beam (See also:Lat. Crabs) is employed instead of the See also:arch, in the latter See also:case the term " arcuated " being used. The See also:principal trabeated styles are the See also:Egyptian, See also:Persian, See also:Greek, Lycian, nearly all the See also:Indian styles, the See also:Chinese, See also:Japanese and See also:South See also:American styles, in all cases owing their origin to the See also:timber construction, for which See also:reason the term See also:post-and-See also:lintel See also:architecture is sometimes applied to it.
