YANAON, or YANAM , a See also:French See also:settlement in See also:India, near the mouth of the See also:river See also:Godavari, within the Godavari See also:district of See also:Madras. It is situated in 16° 44' N. and 82° 13' E.; See also:area, 5 sq. m.; pop. (1901) 5005. Yanaon was founded about 1750, and followed the vicissitudes of French See also:history in S. India. It was finally restored to the French by the treaty of 1815.
