Old English cyln, cylen "kiln, oven, furnace for drying or baking," from Latin culina "kitchen, cooking stove," unexplained variant of coquere "to cook" (from PIE root *pekw- "to cook, ripen"). According to OED, Old Norse kylna, Welsh cilin probably are from English.
