He wrote under the obvious See also:influence of Lamartine, See also:preaching the See also:gospel of liberal-ism and See also:Christianity in verses which, though deficient in force, leave the impression of a sincere devotion and a charming See also:personality. He became director of the See also:national archaeological museum at Madrid, where he died on the 1st of See also:July 1881.
