ALEXISBAD , a See also:

spa of See also:Germany, in the duchy of See also:Anhalt, lying under the Harz mountains, loon ft. above the See also:sea, on the railway from Gernrode to Harzgerode. Pop. 1000. It is celebrated for its medicinal See also:waters, of which the Alexisbrunnen, a ferruginous See also:spring, is used for drinking, while the Selkebrunnen supplies the See also:baths, which are of use in feminine disorders. The See also:place was founded in 1810 by See also:Duke Alexius of Anhalt-See also:Bernburg.
