AMBRIZ , a See also:

West See also:African seaport belonging to See also:Portugal, at the mouth of the Loje See also:River, in 7° 5o' S., 13° E., some 70 M. N. of See also:Loanda. It forms a See also:part of the See also:province of See also:Angola (q.v.). The See also:town is within the See also:free-See also:trade See also:area of the conventional See also:basin of the See also:Congo river. Its See also:chief exports are See also:rubber, See also:gum, See also:coffee and See also:copper. Pop. about 2500. Ambriz was, previously to 1884, the northernmost point of See also:Africa See also:south of the See also:equator acknowledged as Portuguese territory.
