CITTA DELLA PIEVE , a See also:

town and episcopal see of See also:Umbria, See also:Italy, in the See also:province of See also:Perugia, situated 1666 ft. above the See also:sea, 3 M. N.E. of its station on the railway between See also:Chiusi, and See also:Orvieto. Pop. (1901) 838r. See also:Etruscan tombs have been found in the neighbourhood, but it is not certain that the See also:present town stands on an See also:ancient site. It was the birthplace of the painter Pietro Vannucci (See also:Perugino), and possesses several of his See also:works, but none of the first See also:rank.
