N.N.W. of See also:Orvieto. Pop. (1901) 6o1 I. It is situated on a See also:hill 1305 ft. above See also:sea-level, and is surrounded by See also:medieval walls, in which, in places, fragments of the See also:Etruscan See also:wall are incorporated. The See also:cathedral of S. Mustiola is a See also:basilica with a See also:nave and two aisles, with eighteen columns of different kinds of See also:marble, from See also:ancient buildings. It has been restored and decorated with frescoes in See also:modern times. The campanile belongs to the 13th See also:century. The See also:place was devastated by See also:malaria in the See also:middle ages, and did not recever until the See also:Chiana.valley was drained in the 18th century.
