CONEGLIANO , a See also:

town and episcopal see of See also:Venetia, See also:Italy, in the See also:province of Treviso, 17 M. -N. by See also:rail from the town. of Treviso, 230 ft. above See also:sea-level. Pop. (19o1) town, 588o; See also:commune, 10,252.. It is commanded by a large See also:castle. It was the birthplace of the painter Cima da Conegliano, a See also:fine See also:altar-piece by whom is in the See also:cathedral (1492). The See also:place is noted for its See also:wine, chiefly sweet See also:champagne.
