The See also:mineral springs of Contrexeville have been in See also:local repute since a remote See also:period, but became generally known only towards the end of the 18th See also:century; and the See also:modern reputation of the place as a See also:health resort See also:dates from 1864, when it began to be See also:developed by a See also:company, the Societe See also:des Eaux de Contrexeville, and more particularly from about 1895. In the ten years after this latter date many improvementswere made for the See also:accommodation of visitors, foiwhom the See also:season is from May to See also:September. The See also:waters of the Source See also:Pavilion, which are used chiefly for drinking, have a temperature of 530 F. and are characterized chiefly by the presence of See also:calcium sulphate. They are particularly efficacious in the treatment of See also:gravel and kindred disorders, by the elimination of uric See also:acid.
