ELIS, PHILOSOPHICAL SCHOOL OF . This school was founded by See also:Phaedo, a See also:pupil of See also:Socrates. It existed for a very See also:short See also:time and was then transferred by See also:Menedemus to See also:Eretria, where it became known as the Eretrian school. Its See also:chief members, beside Phaedo, were Anchipylus, See also:Moschus and Pleistanus (see PIIAEDO and MENEDEMUS).
