FUGLEMAN (from the Ger. Flugelmann, the See also:man on the Fliigel or wing) , properly a military See also:term for a soldier who is selected to See also:act as " See also:guide," and posted generally on the flanks with the See also:duty of directing the See also:march in the required See also:line, or of giving the See also:time, &c., to the See also:remainder of the unit, which conforms to his movements, in any military exercise. The word is then applied to a ringleader or one who takes the See also:lead in any See also:movement or concerted movement.
