HIPURNIAS , a tribe of See also:

South See also:American See also:Indians, 2000 or 3000 in number, living on the See also:river Purus, western See also:Brazil. Their houses are See also:long, See also:low and narrow: the See also:side walls and roof are one, poles being fixed in the ground and then See also:bent together so as to meet and See also:form a pointed See also:arch for the See also:cross-sections. They use small bark canoes. Their See also:chief weapons are poisoned arrows. They have a native See also:god called Guintiniri.
