Pathan tribe in the See also:North-See also:West Frontier See also:Province of See also:India, inhabiting the See also:south-eastern portion of the See also:Peshawar See also:district and the south-eastern and eastern portions of See also:Kohat. They number 24,000, and have always been quiet and loyal subjects of the See also:British See also:government. They furnish many recruits to the See also:Indian See also:army, and make most excellent soldiers.
