KUMISHAH , a See also:district and See also:town in the See also:province of See also:Isfahan, See also:Persia. The district, which has a length of 5C and a breadth of 16 m., and contains about 40 villages, produces much See also:grain. The town is situated on the high road from Isfahan to See also:Shiraz, 52 M. S. of the former. It was a flourishing See also:city several See also:miles in See also:circuit when it was destroyed by the Afghans in 1722, but is now a decayed See also:place, with crumbled walls and mouldering towers and a See also:population of barely 15,000. It has See also:post and See also:telegraph offices. See also:South of the city and extending to the See also:village Maksudbeggi, t6 m. away, is a level See also:plain, which in 1835 (See also:February 28) was the See also:scene of a See also:battle in which the See also:army (2000 men, 16 guns) of Mahommed Shah, commanded by See also:Sir H.
