LAAGER , a See also:

South See also:African Dutch word (Dutch leger, Ger. lager, connected with Eng. " lair ") for a temporary defensive encampment, formed by a circle of wagons. The See also:English word is " leaguer," an armed See also:camp, especially that of a besieging or "beleaguering" See also:army. The Ger. lager, in the sense of "See also:store," is See also:familiar as the name of a See also:light See also:beer (see See also:BREWING).
