MAHE , a See also:

French See also:settlement in the See also:Malabar See also:district of See also:Madras, See also:India, situated in 1° 43' N. and 750 33' E., at the mouth of a See also:river of the same name. See also:Area, 26 sq. m.; pop. (1901), 10,298. It is the only French See also:possession on the See also:west See also:coast of India, and is in See also:charge of a chef de service, subordinate to the See also:governor-See also:general at See also:Pondicherry. It is now a decaying See also:place.
