S. of Saboia station on the See also:Lisbon-Faro railway, and 12 M. N. of See also:Villa Nova on the See also:Atlantic. Pop. (1900), 7345. Monchique is one of the See also:principal Portuguese See also:health-resorts, finely situated among the wooded heights of the Serra de Monchique, which rise on the See also:west to 2963 ft. There are hot See also:sulphur springs, with See also:baths and a See also:sanatorium 4 M. See also:south. See also:Wheat, See also:millet, See also:rye, beans, oranges, See also:wine, See also:olive oil and chestnuts are the See also:chief products, and there is a woollen factory.
