MONTEFRIO , a See also:

town of See also:southern See also:Spain, in the See also:province of See also:Granada, on the See also:river Bilano. Pop. (1900), 10,725. Montefrio is largely Moorish in See also:character, and dominated by a Moorish See also:castle. Being built midway between the Sierra de Priego and Sierra Parapanda, and commanding the open valley between these ranges, it became one of the See also:chief frontier fortresses of the See also:Moors in the 15th See also:century. Its See also:industries include manufactures of See also:cotton stuffs, See also:alcohol and See also:soap.
