The maximum extra buoyancy has thereby been reduced from 25 lb to 22 lb, which is more than sufficient to support a See also:man heavily clothed with his See also:head and shoulders above the See also:water, or to enable him to ObD• FLAN. MIDSHIP SECTION, support another See also:person besides himself.. Numerous life-belts of very varied descriptions, and made of all sorts of materials, have been patented, but it is generally agreed that for life-See also:boat See also:work the See also:cork life-belt of the Institution has not yet been equalled.
