PHILIPPICS , in classical literature, a See also:

series of orations delivered by See also:Demosthenes against See also:Philip of Macedon. The name was applied to the speeches of See also:Cicero against See also:Mark Antony, and " Philippic " has passed into See also:general use in the sense of an impassioned invective or declamation.
