It is the centre of the See also:tobacco See also:industry of the Vuelta Abajo region. Its See also:port is La Coloma, on the See also:southern See also:coast. The See also:pueblo was created after 1773; but the See also:history of the See also:settlement goes back to 1J71, and the parochial See also:church See also:dates from 1710.
