PIZZO , a seaport of See also:

Calabria, See also:Italy in the See also:province of See also:Catanzaro, 72 M. by See also:rail N.E. of Reggio, situated on a steep cliff overlooking the Gulf of See also:Santa Eufemia, 351 ft. above See also:sea-level. Pop. (1901), 9172. It has an old See also:castle, in which See also:Joachim See also:Murat, ex-See also:king of See also:Naples, was shot on the 13th of See also:October 1815. The See also:people engage in See also:tunny- and See also:coral-fishing. In 1783 the See also:town was almost destroyed by an See also:earth-quake, and it suffered some damage from the same cause in 1905.
