PRAHRAN , a See also:

city of See also:Bourke See also:county, See also:Victoria, See also:Australia, 31 m. by See also:rail S.E. of See also:Melbourne and suburban to it. Pop. (1901), 41,161. It is connected with Melbourne by See also:cable tram over a See also:fine See also:iron girder See also:bridge across the Yarra. Many of its streets are planted with trees and it has numerous handsome shops and villas. Prahran was proclaimed a city in 1879.
